The Fight Back Express is rolling into OUR town!

Cancer will kill an estimated 565,650 people in America this year.  The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is building a grassroots movement united in its mission of making cancer a top national priority.  As part of a six-month, 48-state tour, the Fight Back Express bus will stop in cities throughout the country, rallying cancer patients, survivors, loved ones, family and friends to encourage elected officials to fulfill their essential role as partners in this fight.

The Fight Back Express is coming to Santa Clarita!  The bus is a big rolling billboard to make cancer a priority to our lawmakers.  Please join us for an exciting afternoon.  You will hear from survivor speakers and have the opportunity to sign the shrink-wrapped bus with a message to lawmakers about cancer and access to health care.

We Need You to Help Put the Bus on the Road!

Graphic for 4-08 Bus Miles Email Cancer is nonpartisan. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if you do or don’t have health insurance. It doesn’t care about your age or the impact on your family. Cancer has had the upper hand for far too long. We need to make cancer history now, but we can’t do it without your help.

Government can play a critical role in defeating cancer, but right now our elected officials aren’t doing all they can. To make fighting cancer a national priority, we need political muscle. The strength of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is in the voices of the people behind it, and we are counting on your voice this election year. If one person can battle cancer, a nation can defeat it. In this campaign season, we need you to fight back against the scourge of cancer, to make our elected leaders understand that defeating cancer MUST be a national priority, and to demand access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans.

ACS CAN will make sure that candidates across the country hear our voice as we rev up the Fight Back Express bus on May 4th and start our six-month journey across the country. The bus will travel coast to coast, hitting all 48 contiguous states through Election Day, November 4th. You can help us by “buying a mile” for just $10, and together we will sponsor all 25,000 miles. With 17,000 miles already paid for; you help us cover the last 8,000 by sponsoring miles today at acscan.org/fbe.

Visitors to the ACS CAN Fight Back Express will be able to sign the bus, creating a “petition on wheels” that no elected official at any level of government will be able to ignore. They will become part of a grassroots movement united in its mission to defeat cancer and determined to put cancer at the top of the nation’s agenda.

The ACS CAN Fight Back Express will feature an online petition asking the presidential nominees from both parties to make the fight against cancer a priority for their administration. Visitors will learn about ACS CAN’s campaigns for quality, affordable health care for all Americans. They will find out more about our fight for a smoke-free nation and other efforts to help smokers quit and keep kids from starting. They will be able to ask about what we are doing to increase cancer research funding and secure access to cancer screenings that can detect cancer early or even prevent it altogether.

We need you to help put this bus on the road, to unite and empower everyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, cared for someone with cancer, or lost a loved one to cancer. We appreciate all you have done to support ACS CAN in the past, and hope we can count on you to help get the Fight Back Express moving on May 4th.  Please go to: acscan.org/fbe today to sponsor your miles.

Thank you,

Daniel E. Smith
President, ACS CAN
